Corona Lockdown - Day 30 -23rd April 2020
World Book Day!! Nothing has been good for an avid reader like me. I need to thank my younger self to cultivate the habit of reading. I remember my residential school where we can borrow books from the school library for a week. Me and one of my friends who has the same madness of reading like me used to borrow the books which we both liked. We did exchange books and used to read two books in a week. I still remember how we waited for our turn to get a book has anyone bought a new book. As I remember, I had this interest in books since from 3rd standard when my father got us the Kannada comic book - Balamangala and Champaka. Now that I read autobiographies of achievers, I thank my father for helping me in cultivating that habit in me. I know what I will do when I have time, a book, and a cup of coffee. The coffee mug will get dried up but I will still be glued to my book. I have traveled to many places alone for work. Be it Atlanta, Nashville, Melbourne, or Netherlands I had carried a book or more though they weighed a bit more to consider them a part of my essentials. They hold a dear part of me. If I have ever written a good prose or a poem it's because of my reading. Books in my mother tongue Kannada always stay dear to me. I encourage my daughter to read books. She got so much into it that she started writing small stories and call that as her storybook :). I can't describe how these books have moulded me.
Today was a good and fruitful day that I checked most of the tasks in my list.
Breakfast: Dosai and Brinjal palya
Lunch: Akki rotti with groundnut chutney pudi
Dinner: Chapathi with carrot halwa (This is my favorite combination)
Snack: Crispy golden corn ( It was just like the barbeque nation's corn)
That was some heavy cooking today.
Meditation: Joined evening meditation - just one time.
Read & Write: Yes I did read and write today. I continued my book- it is gripping now. I wrote after a long gap and it feels liberating!
Work out: Did work out for 20 minutes.
Cleaning: Minimal cleaning in the kitchen.
Music: Did listen to old tracks including Amruthavarshini Kannada album.
New learning: I had sweet corn, wanted to try out the crispy golden corn from many days, tried and it was very good for the weather.
