Corona Lockdown - Day 19 - 12th April 2020
Late at the night on Saturday had got a message in the Teno app. This is an app used in school to upload homework and notices for parents. The message said about Zoom online classes from grades 1 to 7 starting the 13th of April. I was agitated thinking about how to handle this as my kid is with my parents in a remote village with no internet access, happily enjoying her summer holidays. With all my stamina and thoughts had composed a lengthy email on do's and dont's of the online trainings for the small kids and the measure the school would have taken. Finally, around late it in the night they sent another message saying they are canceling this idea for now. This topic has taken most of my mind today and I was the active leader in the Class Whatsapp group encouraging everyone to send an email on concerns and has achieved to get most of their support.
Let me summarize my day, It was a lazy one!
Work out: Its a cheat day today.
Meditate: Took both the sittings today and were good.
Read: Picked up another book hiding in my bookshelf. It was pending for a few years. "Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman. I hate the font of the book, makes me wear my glasses. It's too tiny and hardly I read 2 pages today. It has around 300+ pages, hopefully, it would keep me engaged for a long time.
Cook: Breakfast - Quinoa pongal (become lazy, not taking photos)
Lunch - wasn't hungry, so my usual curd with dry fruits.
Dinner - Plain akki rotti with Tomato chutney ( If you see, I must have repeated akki rotti for the nth time, that's the breakfast most of the days my mom made when we were growing. She even does most of the time. I can eat at any time of the day. It is made with no oil. I must thank my friend Dinesh's mother for this recipe, and also to Dinesh who somehow conveyed how to prepare this. I do remember how I tasted this chutney from his lunch Dabba at the office cafeteria. It is simple, In a Kadai, put 2 spoons of oil, fry garlic, red chilies, urad dal, cumin seeds, little ajwain and saute tomatoes one by one, note not all these at once but one by one. Cut a little bunch of coriander leaves and add a pinch of tamarind along with salt. Grind into a thick paste, not too fine paste. Season it with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and urad dal. I like it spicy so added more chilies and it goes good with hot rice with ghee roti as well.)
New learn: Couldnt continue on my French lessons today, will take it tomorrow.
Music: I was playing most of the instrumental cover songs. I did see a new variety of Veena Srivani's cheap thrill cover on veena, loved it. Below is the link. She usually does covers on south Indian hits or the Bollywood ones. This was surprising and was good.

Write: Nothing, other than this.
Clean home: I wasn't in cleaning mode, but did all it required to make kitchen functional along with laundry, dusting and wiping.
I have made the Idli/dosai batter ready. Anyone can predict what I am going to cook :). I can make either Idli, Dosai or paddu. Breakfast for two days is preplanned. Smarter me! pat on my back!
